Streaks of bad lucks... :(

Thursday, July 29, 2004

I've been experiencing a streak of bad lucks lately; to be exact, this few days.

First bad luck - Tuesday 27th : I was helping my GF's brother to move his stuffs to his new house, and i casually parked my car at the roadside (which i normally do anyway). When I came to my car again (after everything's done), there lies a traffic summons ticket from our dear policeman on my car windscreen. I was like, WTF, last day I'm around this neighbourhood also wanna SAMAN me. I collected the traffic summons ticket, and head home.

Second bad luck - Wednesday 28th : I left home early to be in the office earlier, so that I can rearrange some of my stuffs. On the way to work, i somehow banged into something on the road. I didn't notice the damaged until I reached office. The right-side rear tyre was completely FLAT! dang, must be something sharp. I only change after work. Lazy.

They say bad luck or good luck comes in 3. If that's true, i should have another bad luck coming my way soon. Have to watch out for the sky that might fall on my head!!!

Breasts & Penises....

Wednesday, July 28, 2004

Got this from email, damn hilarous :D I just loved reading this kind of jokes... :P
The son asks his father, "Dad, how many kinds of breasts are there?"
The father, surprised, answers, "Well, son, there are three kinds of breasts.
In her twenties, a woman's breasts are like melons, round and firm.
In her thirties to forties, they are like pears, still nice but hanging a bit.
After fifty, they are like onions."
"Onions?"
"Yes, see them and they make you cry."

This infuriated the wife and daughter so the daughter said, "Mom, how many kind of penises are there?"
The mother, surprised, smiles, and looks at her husband and answers, "Well, daughter, a man goes through three phases.
In a man's twenties, a man's penis is like an oak, mighty and hard.
In his thirties and forties, it is like a birch, flexible but reliable.
After his fifties, it is like a Christmas tree."
"A Christmas tree?"
Yes, dead from the roots up and the balls are there for decoration only."

kekekekekekeke :P

Move move move!!

Tuesday, July 27, 2004

Just moved to a new place in our company's cubes-ville. Basically, I liked this new place better. At least more privacy, nobody would be lurking around my back while i'm looking at some *ahem* materials. A little complaint though, this place is considerably brighter than my old cube. Anyway, need some time to adjust to this new cube :D

Hmm.. this would be the 3rd (or was it 4th? dunno ler) time yours truly moving in the cubes-ville for the duration of 2 yrs. A lot? Dunno ler, getting used to it already. The *moving* mode is already there, as I just moved to a new house as well last week.

wow... feels so good to be able to blog again... :D kekekekeke

Blog-Addicted...

Wednesday, July 21, 2004

Somehow I find that blogging can be addictive, if that's the word to use. I recently moved to a new place somewhere near Sg Nibong (tapak pesta), and I'm currently down with no Streamyx or whatsoever Internet connections at the new place. Reason? There's no lines/ports going to our new place yet. WTF.... there's like 100 houses there, and Telekom dare to say no ports?? anyway, got a call from Kedai Telekom earlier, saying there's already new ports assigned to the new block, so good news good news.......

To make matter worst (before I got the call from Kedai Telekom earlier), our company's IT dept decided that Blogspot is taking too much of company's precious network bandwidth, and decided to ban this little, precious site away from us. Seriously, this is obviously retarted way to handle something. If they can't handle it, they ban it. I cannot agree more with Jase in his blog post Simbian Controlling The Network.

Wait till I get Streamyx at my new place.... for now, whatever will be, will be..... *sigh*

Bad.... very very bad

Tuesday, July 20, 2004

Dang.

It just couldn't get anymore bad. I just moved to new place, and the place still doesn't have any phone line installed yet. One place with internet connection down, so I have to resort to office's internet to access Blogspot so that I can update my blog, but the !%&$#%$&! IS people decided to ban the website when they cannot handle the amount of traffic leading to the website. Couldn't agree more with Jase in his blog Simbian Controlling the Network that the more things taken away from us, the more ways we will try to look to get thru the barrier.

Dang again. *sigh*

Office Etiquette 101 : How to Poo At Work

Friday, July 16, 2004

Received this in email. Cannot resist it but to share it to the world. After all, good things have to be shared, right?? :D

Office Etiquette 101 : How to Poo At Work
We've all been there but don't like to admit it. We've all kicked back in our cubicles and suddenly felt something brewing down below. As much as we try to convince ourselves otherwise, the WORK POO is inevitable. For those who hate pooing at work, following is the Survival Guide for taking a dump at work.

CROP DUSTING
When farting, you walk briskly around the office so the smell is not in your area and everyone else gets a whiff but doesn't know where it came from. Be careful when you do this. Do not stop until the full fart has been expelled. Walk an extra 30 feet to make sure the smell has left your pants.
FLY BY
The act of scouting out a bathroom before pooing. Walk in and check for other pooers. If there are others in the bathroom, leave and come back again. Be careful not to become a FREQUENT FLYER. People may become suspicious if they catch you constantly going into the bathroom.
ESCAPEE
A fart that slips out while taking a leak at the urinal or forcing a poop in a stall. This is usually accompanied by a sudden wave of embarrassment. If you release an escapee, do not acknowledge it. Pretend it did not happen. If you are standing next to the farter in the urinal, pretend you did not hear it. No one likes an escapee. It is uncomfortable for all involved. Making a joke or laughing makes both parties feel uneasy.
JAILBREAK
When forcing a poo, several farts slip out at a machine gun pace. This is usually a side effect of diarrhea or a hangover. If this should happen, do not panic. Remain in the stall until everyone has left the bathroom to spare everyone the awkwardness of what just occurred.
COURTESY FLUSH
The act of flushing the toilet the instant the poo hits the water. This reduces the amount of air time the poo has to stink up the bathroom. This can help you avoid being caught doing the WALK OF SHAME.
WALK OF SHAME
Walking from the stall, to the sink, to the door after you have just stunk up the bathroom. This can be a very uncomfortable moment if someone walks in and busts you. As with farts, it is best to pretend that the smell does not exist. Can be avoided with the use of the COURTESY FLUSH.
OUT OF THE CLOSET POOER
A colleague who poos at work and is damn proud of it. You will often see an Out Of The Closet Pooer enter the bathroom with a newspaper or magazine under his or her arm. Always look around the office for the Out Of The Closet Pooer before entering the bathroom.
THE POOING FRIENDS NETWORK (P.F.N)
A group of co-workers who band together to ensure emergency pooing goes off without incident. This group can help you to monitor the whereabouts of Out Of The Closet Pooers, and identify SAFE HAVENS.
SAFE HAVENS
A seldom used bathroom somewhere in the building where you can least expect visitors. Try floors that are predominantly of the opposite sex. This will reduce the odds of a pooer of your sex entering the bathroom.
TURD BURGLAR
Someone who does not realize that you are in the stall and tries to force the door open. This is one of the most shocking and vulnerable moments that can occur when taking a poo at work. If this occurs, remain in the stall until the Turd Burglar leaves. This way you will avoid all uncomfortable eye contact.
CAMO-COUGH
A phoney cough that alerts all new entrants into the bathroom that you are in a stall. This can be used to cover-up a WATERMELON, or to alert potential Turd Burglars. Very effective when used in conjunction with an ASTAIRE.
ASTAIRE
A subtle toe-tap that is used to alert potential Turd Burglars that you are occupying a stall. This will remove all doubt that the stall is occupied. If you hear an Astaire, leave the bathroom immediately so the pooer can poo in peace.
WATERMELON
A poo that creates a loud splash when hitting the toilet water. This is also an embarrassing incident. If you feel a Watermelon coming on, create a diversion. See CAMO-COUGH.
HAVANA OMELETTE
A case of diarrhoea that creates series of loud splashes in the toilet water. Often accompanied by an Escapee. Try using Camo-Cough with an Astaire.
UNCLE TED
A bathroom user who seems to linger around forever. Could spend extended lengths of time in front of the mirror or sitting on the pot. An Uncle Ted makes it difficult to relax while on the crapper, as you should always wait to poo when the bathroom is empty. This benefits you as well as the other bathroom attendees.

kekekeke.. still cannot finished laughing... :D

Some people are just bloody damn ignorant

Thursday, July 15, 2004

I think some people in this world are just being ignorant to other issues or things around them. I have to agree with Jase in his blog post Some People Are Just Stupid that we should be given permission by law to shoot down all the stupid people in this world. I would like the law to add ignorant people to the group that deserve my bullet as well.

Why am I so cranky? I went to a petrol station in Bayan Baru just now to fill up my petrol, and normally in petrol stations there would be signboards asking us not to smoke, not to use mobile phone while filling up and also to turn off the car engine while filling up. But somehow this !%$&#^!%@# guy, driving new Honda Accord, was yapping away with his new Nokia 7200 mobile phone while filling up petrol for his car. Luckily I had done with my petrol, took the receipt, get into my car and quickly sped off. Stupid !%&^*(&!#^ guy, if he wants to die, die alone la. Don't make others life dangerous as well.....*sigh*

Lonely women pester Malaysian Firefighters

Got this from email :
Lonely women pester Malaysia firemen
By Jonathan Kent
BBC correspondent in Kuala Lumpur

The enduring sex appeal of firefighters is causing problems for Malaysia's emergency services.
The country's head of civil defence says 97% of calls to the emergency number are either hoaxes or non-urgent.
Many of the calls, Jamal Arafin said, were from lonely women who had decided to dial a hunk.
He said the problem was worst in the east coast town of Kuala Terengganu - and said calls to the 991 number would be recorded to deter time-wasters.
Last year the Malaysian government announced that only one in 200 calls made to the police emergency line was genuine.
Now it has emerged that the country's civil defence forces have the same problem.
They are supposed to co-ordinate the response to fires, accidents and medical emergencies, but appear to spend most of their time dealing with hoaxes or time-wasters.
Mr Arafin, who heads the department, said many were lonely women who simply liked chatting to his staff.
The department also reported that when female staff were taking calls they were inundated with men wanting to report emergencies of a different kind.
What kind of emergency that might be was not specified

OMG... serious ar??? I thought more Malaysian firefighters are overweight? Maybe overweight = attractive ? Dunno ler....

More broadband Internet providers... yay!!

Yay! More and more broadband Internet providers coming to our shore. Was going through The Star Online and came across this title under Technology section : Another broadband provider for consumers. Excerpts from the news :
Broadband service provider Airzed Networks Sdn Bhd plans to venture into wireless broadband services for residential customers, said its executive chairman Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir.

“We’ve received numerous requests from residential users who have either experienced poor connection speeds with their current service provider, or who do not have broadband connections (at all),” he told the media on Monday.

“We believe that there is a currently a strong demand for broadband connection and Airzed is looking into ways to meet this demand,” he added.

Cool. Then I came across another news, also good news for our broadband Internet world : Jaring wireless broadband service in three months. Excerpts from the news :
Internet service provider (ISP) Jaring is expected to launch its wireless broadband service in three months, initially covering select major urban areas.

Asked Monday when Jaring would introduce the service, Jaring CEO Dr Mohamed Awang Lah said: "Within three months, as originally planned."

Jaring would make the service first available in the Klang Valley, followed by Johor Baru and Penang, with the ISP looking to roll it out to the rest of the country by next year.

Subscription fees have yet to be decided but Mohamed said they would be “competitive.”

Wake up Telekom. Your competitors are here.

Networking made easy - Part 2

Thought of sharing out what I did to make my BitTorrent downloads go faster (meaning no longer behind firewall!!), so this is step-by-step on how to do port forwarding using Aztech NA3000 4-port switch + router, and I'm using ZTE XDSL831 as my modem (not reset to router)....

First, I limit the ports in BitTorrent (btw, I'm using the BitTornado client - www.bittornado.com) to just 4 ports (initially to one port - 6881 - then I decided to make it 4, so I can open more than 1 torrent download).

Then, I login into the router's web management console, and go to the Port Forwarding configuration. I added the 4 ports, corresponding with the ports that I limit in BitTorrent.

Save settings, and the modem will reboot, and try opening any torrent downloads. You should get green icon now..

You can get more than that, this one becos I was too happy that I took this screenshot... once it goes up till 45kB/s!

Spiderman 2 - been there...

Sunday, July 11, 2004

Watched Spiderman 2 last Friday. The movie's ok, not really so great. The effect's good, the cast's good.... it's just I can't understand why they decided to un-mask Spiderman at the train scene. It's seriously unnecessary. We can understand the un-masking scene when Harry Osbourne wanna see who's behind the mask, and also when he reveals himself to Doc Ock so that he can help him to destroy the machine. Seriously don't know what the director thought....... *sigh*

brought my dial-up modem back for my brother, so that he can online - but only after he promised to study hard for his upcoming SPM examination... *sigh*

Spiderman 2

Friday, July 09, 2004

Have already bought the tickets to Spiderman 2 tonight. Been waiting to see this movie, after so much good reviews on this movie. Somehow, a few of my colleagues was complaining that Kirsten Dunst was acting like "boh kam muan". This I have to see by myself tonite.

Yeah, managed to get BitTorrent download passed the router thingy using port forwarding. Would probably put up some screenshots of my config to share around here. Yesterday tried one movie download, got up to 50kB/s !! damn.....

Networking made easy

Tuesday, July 06, 2004

wow....

i didn't figure out that sharing Internet connection using a router + switch with Streamyx is as easy as unpack the box, plug in the power, plug in the network cables, clicking on Quick Connection and off I go... I'm connected to the Internet already... :D tried to share with my GF's brother PC, just couldn't get thru.... suspected his PC's network card is gone, as it kept prompting me to reinstall the driver...anyway, that we will figure out later, just need him to go get himself a new network card, and off he goes to the wonders of broadband Internet.... :D

a little hitch though... the router + 4-port switch that I bought, Aztech NA3000, came with it's Easy Start manual, which was pretty good till the Web Management console part.... on the last page of the manual, it written that :
1. From your Internet browser, key in http://10.0.0.2 at the address bar and hit < Enter >.
*note : You will be prompted for the username and password to login to the Web Management. Enter admin for the username and leave the password field empty (factory defaults). Click OK.

I tried and tried and tried... it just kicks me out and said "Access Denied". I called up Kuan of Swisspac Resources (i bought the router from them), asking whether they know anything that I don't know... He told me that the password is "epicrouter", which was actually given in the User Guide CD... hmm... i tried that, and it's ok.. :D can go thru..
a little misunderstanding there... wasn't the printed copy and the CD copy should be the same?? hmm... I leave it to Aztech to deal with it....

basically now happy with it.. :D

Playstation 2

i have made one crazy decision...

i'm getting the 2nd hand Playstation 2 that Jase have been talking about!! He would be going to BJ Complex and check for the availability of the set (as I'm working till 11pm tonite), if it's still there, that's it... the set would be mine...!!!

crazy or not... if the set is still there, i would be RM400 poorer, and i'll be much happier playing on that PS2!! I'm going to share that happiness with my girlfriend as well... only if the set is MINE!!!

IF the set is mine... the nite at team building would go by very, very fast.... hammering our fingers away on the PS2 controllers... Jase would be bringing his precious set of PS2, and with I-Link cables, we can battle head-to-head on 2 different TV sets...
only IF....

precioussss........:D

just need to config my GetRight to auto-download the episodes over the weekend.... :D
