Networking made easy

Tuesday, July 06, 2004

wow....

i didn't figure out that sharing Internet connection using a router + switch with Streamyx is as easy as unpack the box, plug in the power, plug in the network cables, clicking on Quick Connection and off I go... I'm connected to the Internet already... :D tried to share with my GF's brother PC, just couldn't get thru.... suspected his PC's network card is gone, as it kept prompting me to reinstall the driver...anyway, that we will figure out later, just need him to go get himself a new network card, and off he goes to the wonders of broadband Internet.... :D

a little hitch though... the router + 4-port switch that I bought, Aztech NA3000, came with it's Easy Start manual, which was pretty good till the Web Management console part.... on the last page of the manual, it written that :
1. From your Internet browser, key in http://10.0.0.2 at the address bar and hit < Enter >.
*note : You will be prompted for the username and password to login to the Web Management. Enter admin for the username and leave the password field empty (factory defaults). Click OK.

I tried and tried and tried... it just kicks me out and said "Access Denied". I called up Kuan of Swisspac Resources (i bought the router from them), asking whether they know anything that I don't know... He told me that the password is "epicrouter", which was actually given in the User Guide CD... hmm... i tried that, and it's ok.. :D can go thru..
a little misunderstanding there... wasn't the printed copy and the CD copy should be the same?? hmm... I leave it to Aztech to deal with it....

basically now happy with it.. :D
