My Blogshares - updated

Wednesday, August 25, 2004

I was looking thru my BlogShares portfolio this morning when I found something very shocking : One of the shares that I bought goes off to B$630.84 !! (in red circle below)

When I bought the share, it was B$1.01, so I bought 1250 of those shares. Who knows that the share price soar so high in just one night? I quickly sell off the share, and take off the B$ to get something else.

cool? you bet... :P

Exercise to brighten up your day..:P

Makes you think whether the translation tool over Internet is fool proof:

step 1:
go to http://www.google.com.my/language_tools?hl=en

step 2:
enter the following line into the translate textbox:
my mom is nice and cool

step 3
translate from english to spanish.

step 4:
copy the translated text, and translate it back from spanish to english.

step 5:
read the final translated text aloud to the person nearest to you now.

Enjoy your day! :P

Change my hair color... :P

Monday, August 23, 2004

Went to Alor Setar yesterday to see my regular hairdresser, my aunt. Was supposed to just have a haircut, but my brother voiced out that my hair looked "dull" lately. I used to colour my hair to a little copperish shade, and it's been a while since my last hair coloring session. So decided to colour my hair (my aunt only charge me for the colour - RM25), but to what colour? Since I have tried copperish shade before (take a look at my profile pic, you'll get the picture), my girlfriend suggested that I try purplish, just for the fun of it. Went ahead with the colour, and 1 hour later i have purplish hair !! :P

My colleagues noticed immediately about my hair as soon as I came to work this morning. At least these shade of colour commanded more attention than my earlier attempts at hair-colouring. Satisfied? ok la... :P

I must take a pic of my hair and put it up here soon... :D

My BlogShare claimed :D

Finally, I'm able to lay claim on my blog at BlogShares, only after I deleted the old code from the template, paste back new code to the template, publish index only first, then re-publish the entire blog again.

Jase is jealous with the fact that my Blogshares is higher than his. Face it mate, mine's more popular... :P kekekekek

Is there love anymore in this world??

Saturday, August 21, 2004

Was on my way to work this morning, when Mix.FM played this song "Where Is The Love" by Black Eyed Peas. The lyric of the song seriously makes me think, what's wrong with this world? Can't people live in peace anymore? Take our beloved country Malaysia for example, people got their bags snatched in broad daylight :(

Anyway, found the lyric, and here's it guys... :P enjoy! Oh ya, the link to the video is here.

Where Is The Love - Black Eyed Peas
what's wrong with the world, mama?
people livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world's addicted to the drama
only attracted to the things that'll bring the trama
overseas yeah, we tryin' to stop terrorism
but we still got terrorists here livin'
in the U.S.A, the big C.I.A
the bloods & the crips, and the KKK
but if you only have love for your own ways
then you only leave space to discriminate
and to discriminate only generates hate
and when you hate, then you're bound to get irate (yeah)
madness is what you demonstrate
and that's exactly how anger works and operates
man ya gotta have love, this'll set us straight
take control of your mind and meditate
let your soul gravitate, to the love ya'll

people killin', people dyin'
children hurt and ya hear them cryin'
can you practice what you preach,
and would you turn the other cheek
father, father, father, help us
send some guidance from above
'cause people got me, got me questionin:
where is the love?
(love)
where is the love?
(the love)
where is the love?
(the love)
where is the love?
(where is the love, the love, the love)

it just ain't the same
old ways have changed
new days are strange, is world insane?
if love and peace is so strong
why are there pieces of love that don't belong
nations droppin' bombs
chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
with ongoin sufferin', as the youth die young
so ask yourself, is the lovin' really gone
so I can ask myself, really, what is going wrong
with this world that we livin' in
(livin' in)
people keep on givin in
(givin in)
makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
(yeah)
not respectin' eachother, deny thy brother
a war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
the truth is kept secret, and swept under the rug
if you never know truth, then you never know love
where's the love ya'll? c'mon
(i don't know)
where's the truth ya'll? c'mon
(i don't know)
and where's the love ya'll?

people killin', people dyin'
children hurt and ya hear them cryin'
can you practice what you preach,
and would you turn the other cheek
father, father, father, help us
send some guidance from above
'cause people got me, got me questionin:
where is the love?
(love)
where is the love?
(the love)
where is the love?
(the love)
where is the love?
(where is the love, the love, the love)

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
(shoulder)
as I'm getting older, ya'll people gets colder
(colder)
most of us only care about money makin'
(monnkey makin')
selfishness got us followin the wrong direction
(wrong direction)
wrong information always shown by the media
(media)
negative images is the main criteria
(criteria)
infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
(bacteria)
kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema
(cinema)

whatever happened to the values of humanity?
whatever happened to the fairness and equality
instead of spreading love we spreadin' animosity
lack of understandin' leading us away from unity
that's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin under
(under)
that's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin down
(down)
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin under
(under)
gotta keep my faith alive till love is found
(found)

people killin', people dyin'
children hurt and ya hear them cryin'
can you practice what you preach,
and would you turn the other cheek
father, father, father, help us
send some guidance from above
'cause people got me, got me questionin:
where is the love?
(love)
where is the love?
(the love)
where is the love?
(the love)
where is the love?
(where is the love, the love, the love)

Another stupidity strucks me.. :P

Tuesday, August 17, 2004

I was trying to connect to the Internet via Streamyx this morning, when there's an error msg popped up and prevented me from logging in.

"The specified location cannot be reached"

That's what the error msg are. Being lazy, I just left it alone, and left home for work, thinking this must be some disruption with the service. Checked with Jase while at work, and found out that his Streamyx was ok. I didn't give much notice on that.

I came back to house, and tried to connect again. Same. Same error msg pops up again. Checked the NIC cable - ok. Checked the modem connection - DSL light steady, LAN light is on. Hmm... everything seems normal here. So I thought, since dialing won't work, why not try connect my switch/router and see, and let the router part connects? So, I went to connect the router to the modem, and the necessary cablings are done, and tried to login to the router using web browser.

"http://10.0.0.2 : Page not found"

OMG. What the heck happen? I can't even log into my router web management console! Suddenly, something striked my head, and I went straight to Network & Connections Properties. Checked :

"Local Area Connection - Status : Disabled"

Dang! Directly enabled it, and everything works like a charm. Wahlau.... like that also can. This must be my sister's work, as she was using the computer, and must have accidently disabled the LAN, thinking that disconnects the Streamyx. Good experience? You bet... :D

Stupid me... :P

This morning I tried to access our department's webserver (maintained by yours truly, located at yours truly's cubicle), but to no avail. I then tought, maybe the webserver had been running for quite some time, and need a restart. So restart it goes, and still cannot access the webserver. Tried to PING the webserver, only got this msg back : "Request time out."

I was like, oh shit, what the heck I have done wrong? Tried to stop & restart the IIS (the server running Windows XP Pro), still no signs of revival.

Then something pop-up from nowhere, and I went to check the Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) for the LAN connection, and to my horror, it's TURNED ON!! No wonder i cannot even PING the webserver. Oh ya, last night while troubleshooting with customer I might have accidently turned on the ICF while guiding the customer how to turn ICF on.

Now the webserver is cruising smoothly, thanks to my stupidity.... kekeke :P

Broke :(

Wednesday, August 04, 2004

This month, I'm seriously broke. My dad just brought another bad news for me just now. The flat tyre cannot be repaired, need to replace a new tyre :( RM225 poorer, as I asked my dad to change the engine oil as well, so it's RM155 (tyre) + RM70 (engine oil + oil filter). Adoi... somemore USM convo is around.

Just hoping one day can strike 1st price in Lottery. Get RM 3 million, directly stay at home :) but wait... how the heck i'm gonna strike, if i never buy any lottery ticket? :P

USM convo week... broke again la...

Monday, August 02, 2004

This week is USM convocation week. Been having this crazy idea of taking convo pics in the "jubah" again, this time with my GF, as when we had ours 2 yrs ago, we did not have a chance to go to photo studio for a photo picture of both of us in graduating suit. This year, we will have that chance, as my GF's brother is graduating this year.

The plan? Borrow the "jubah" (what do they call it in English ar?) from my GF's brother, and also his GF, so we will have 2 sets of "jubah" to pose in. Only one problem : The brother's GF is not of the same faculty, hence the "jubah" collar colour would be different. So, we would have to ask the brother to borrow one "jubah" collar from one of his graduating coursemates. Good plan? We would know tomorrow... :P

USM convocation week normally means one thing to me : Broke. Why? Convo = giving flowers = $$$ = broke. This year, with my GF's brother graduating, have to buy extra sets of flowers. What with my own juniors? All also have to give.... money money money...
