I need a holiday!

Friday, March 30, 2007

I'm seriously in need of a good holiday. If possible, something that I only paid for once and I don't have to worry about anymore expenses for the resort or hotel that I stayed it. The Caribbean should be fun so, an all inclusive resort in The Caribbean sounds like the kind of resort i need.

I can chill out, have good time at the beach, eat all the seafood I want, worry about nothing at all. I want to just laze around with my wife, by the beach, probably snuggling up to a good book, or good handheld game :)

I just need the time out. Chilling out in front of the computer screen, looking at The Caribbean beach's wallpaper is not exactly what I needed now - i need to get out! :)

Expectation set

It's done, whatever that needed to be done. Have gone thru the interview, albeit a little nervous of what could possibly be asked. But glad to say all went well, and the interviewer was talking most of the time :)

So i've done my part, and what I'll have to do for now is hope for the best. Not that I do not have any confidence in myself, but it has been a habit for me to not put too high the hopes on anything, so that in case I didn't get it, I won't be too disappointed.

I'm going to do what I do best for now - hope for the worst, and expect for the best :) Wish me luck! *finger-crossed*

Moment of truth

Thursday, March 29, 2007

The moment of truth would be here tomorrow - whether I'll really be moving over to do new stuffs would depend on how I fare tomorrow. I'm just going to give my best, and the truth in anything that I'll be assessed upon.

I'm nervous? Quite a bit. I have not being attending any interviews since 5 years ago. Most of the time, my current gig requires me to interview people. So it would be fun and definitely a change to get interviewed instead.

I'll try to be cool. It'll pass sooner than I thought. But before that, just let me get nervous :P

Do you have problem sleeping?

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

It's annoying not being able to sleep. It's even more annoying if the cause of you not able to sleep is nothing but yourself. If you have sleep apnea problem, probably you'll need something to help you sleeping.

If you haven't heard, sleep apnea is one condition where sleep is disrupted when you couldn't breath properly, there's something's disrupting the air flow. For this, you'll probably need a CPAP device to aid your breathing.

CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, and it helps ease breathing by allowing the patient to breath freely by blowing air into the nostrils to keep the airway passages open. What the patients need to do is to turn on the device, put on the nasal mask, and breath.

It's amazing how technology could make our life more convenient, and more worthwhile :)

Take the chance - yes

I guessed I'll have to play along. I'm definitely accepting any good offer that will eventually expand and grow my experience value. When people come knocking at your door, will you just ignore the call and turn them away? Especially if the offer would probably be saving your ass?

If you haven't quite get what I meant, probably you wouldn't for some time. But if you have been following me for some time, you'd probably know what I'm trying to do. If you catch the hints that has been written for the past few weeks, you'll know where I'm heading to.

I don't have the direction initially. Sort like you are walking in a tunnel, and there's no light to guide you at all. And suddenly, there's this hands, out of nowhere, extending a candle, and offering you a path to walk. And now, it's really up to me whether I would follow the candle.

Let's just see in the coming week :)

Dating site, anyone?

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

Some people can't seem to get date, no matter how hard they tried. They tried the traditional way - speed-dating, meeting at the bar, go for outings - but still not able to have any luck. Probably they haven't heard of online dating sites.

JustSayHi is one such site that offers free online dating service. Even it's a free site, the site is quite enormous with more than thousand members for you to start with.

Although there's this competitor site, PlentyOfFish, it's a threat, but comparatively, JustSayHi looks more professional, and more presentable. First impression always count, and with that, JustSayHi has got it right.

Life's so unpredictable

It's hard to predict anything at all, especially if it has something to do with what we do with life. One day you could be young and healthy, and the next thing you know, you may end up sick and possibly dead the next day. I realised that life's too short to be taken for granted, and to be wasted away.

Sounds scary right? But being scary is what life is about. Anything is so uncertain. You could go around and say that you do not fear death, but think deep and hard: do you really not fear death, or you fear death so much that you proclaimed otherwise to make people think that you are strong?

Lord Buddha says that death is something certain; life isn't. You were born, became sick, grew old and eventually die - that's the circle of life. You can't escape that circle of life, even if you are someone great and influential.

Sounds creepy? Don't worry - I'm still very much alive :) Just needed to get this out of my mind.

Blogs up now

Friday, March 23, 2007

Apparently, my blog host took more than 1 hour to response to my ticket. But at least, they did it good - not only that they reply my ticket, but my all my sites were up as well.

The reason for my sites being down is that the server was null-routed. Means, it got routed out to nowhere. Which simply means that no traffic can go in and out of there. Why?

Because they have moved my sites to a different server. Apparently, that happened to a lot of others that's on the same server too. I must be damn unlucky to get one problem after another to happen on my sites. Maybe I should just consider moving out of this host - let's see how it goes.

Moving

Moving house can sometimes be a very big deal for some people, especially if they don't have anybody to help them to move. Even so, looking for reputable moving company is not that easy either, as we never know whether the moving company that you hire would move your things to your new place, or just elope with your things.

Finding one reputable company is hard enough, but to get one cheap moving company is even harder. The question always remain: Could I trust this guys? Even though the company's reputable, but the cheap moving price would probably make you doubtful.

It's always best to ask around, especially those who move house before. Ask what moving company they used, and probably engaged that moving company to help you move. You'd have less headache that way :)

Down again

Thursday, March 22, 2007

Apparently, my hosting is down again, together with the rest of my other sites. Lately, they have been down quite often, that I have thoughts of moving hosts. Not that I hate this host - they have been helpful when the time's correct - but I can't keep on getting 404 errors for all my sites. What's the use of the sites if the only thing you get is 404?

I've been looking at other hosts for now. Am considering both local and also US-based hosts, like my current one. I've been looking at Exabytes - quite cheap, and heard that it's reliable. And I saw Bluehost too - 200GB of space for US$6.95/month is kinda cool. And the fact that it can host 6 domains makes me think hard.

One of the requirements for me to move off this current host would be the new host should be able to support at least 6 domains in one hosting plan - I have 5 domains hosted currently with one plan. If I can't get that, no matter how good the host is, I can't take advantage of it.

Let's just see what my current host will reply to my technical ticket *finger crossed*

Take the chance?

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

What would you do if you have a chance to do something different, and that chance is here - right now? Do you grab it, or just wait for a better chance to come along? Do you actually believe that a better chance would come along eventually?

I don't even know what to do. I know i had a chance to move on now, but it won't come until much later. Whether i'll choose to accept or not. Whether I'll take or just leave it aside. I don't know, yet.

Probably it's really time to move on. I have been with this place long enough. 5 years is long enough for someone who has been staying at one place. Especially since this is my first actual job right out of university.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the confirmation first. But, I'll have to start making the move right now. At least, I'm giving people chance to be ready :)

Time to move on?

Tuesday, March 20, 2007

How would you know it's time for you to move on to do something different? How would you know that whatever current thing that you are doing is not relevant and not really helping you anymore? How would you know when to back out, and starts something else new?

I always have troubles with that. I remembered having an opportunity to do something else totally different, about 1/2 year back. But I didn't take the chance. I just let the chance slipped away, thinking that I can make something better out of what I was doing then. Little that I know that I'm still doing that now, and I'm beginning to regret.

I had another chance of doing something similar like 4 years back, but with a totally different environment. The perks was kinda good, but the stint was just temporary. I don't know whether it's lucky me or silly me for not taking the opportunity, as the stint would get me into one of the lucrative market you can ever thought of - oil & gas.

I think I just need to be more sensitive to my surroundings and make the move when the time is right. I don't know whether now is, but i certainly hope for the best.

What would you do when your blog is down?

Sunday, March 18, 2007

What do you do if your blog is down? Do you whine, cry, panicked or just write something about it in another blog? Me? It's kinda obvious what I'm doing here right? My main site is down, thanks to my complaint that they shortchanged me by giving shared IP when i paid for dedicated IP.

Yes, i got my dedicated IP, but my site is down now :( I can't blog, I can't post anything from PayPerPost or Blogsvertise or Blogitive (i have few paid posts pending), and I can't do a damn thing! Luckily, I have this site, and my other blogs - in case you haven't been following my other blog that closely, I have 5 blogs (including this) now!

Yeah, sounds crazy right? But that's how I managed to keep my sanity and my main blog from being too cluttered with numerous of things. I keep different topics on different sites. You can get to my sites by checking out the links on the right hand side of this blog.

By the way, for those crazy people like me - how many blogs do you keep? :)

Payday loans

Sunday, March 11, 2007

It's a pity we don't have this kind of loan in Malaysia, else, it could come in handy in some sticky situations. Payday cash loans offers the conveniences of personal loan, but better.

Sometimes, you don't want to be taking too much personal loan. You may just want to have, perhaps, US$1000, until your next payday. WIth this payday cash loan, you could do just that, and get the money the same day! Personal loan might take weeks, so this way, payday cash loans does come in handy.

Malaysian banks should come out with this kind of idea to help the government's battle to take on the illegal loan sharks. With this idea, and with easy approval, who needs loan shark anymore? :)

Wonder wonder

Ever since i got back to blogging at this site, I kept thinking, will the people that knows my main blog will come to know the resurrection of this blog? Will they come and see what I've blogged and discussed among themselves?

From what I can see, from my stats, nobody seems to be coming to this site yet. At least, not from anyone I know. At least, I'm pretty safe for now, and I can still continue on really writing whatever that comes to mind without any obstruction.

But then again, do I really care about whether this site will be discovered? Do i even give a damn if my boss is reading this blog? I figured, if i were to write these stuffs online, and expect it to remain a secret, that would be foolish of me to be thinking so.

If I really want to keep it a secret, would I be better off writing it offline - in my scrap book or something like that? Sometimes, I just have to let go.

New layout

I found this nice template based on Wordpress that has already been ported to Blogger. I'm still using the old Blogger template, as I'm more of HTML guy rather than XML guy. I don't have much clue playing around the codes of the new Blogger template.

For the time being, i'm keeping the old Blogger template, and mess around with the HTML to customize this site. Sometimes, too long a time attached to something can be deteriorating :)

Collectible dolls

Girls - do you have dolls in your collection? Boys - do you also have dolls in your collection? I know it may sound sissy to guys and sweet to girls, but i do have my fair share of collectible dolls.

Nope, my collection does not consists of Barbie dolls or those kind of dolls that girls play with, but more of collectible stuffs like McDonald's beanie dolls and stuffs like that. Things that would eventually fetch a fortune, maybe in the future.

I have my reasons on collecting dolls - at that time, i was trying to woo my wife :) But many people may have different reasons why they collect dolls that sometimes looks too scary to be collected in the first place. For some, it's just the kick that they get on running around completing their collections. Others just trying to find way to earn more money (in the future by selling those).

Any reasons, collectible dolls are definitely one of the "in" thing to do. You should too :)

Survival of the fittest

I've been thinking a lot of changing my working environment. Many years in the same place - in fact, in the same dept - can seriously dull even the brightest mind around. Luckily for me, at least i've been doing some variety in the work - that'll probably help me look for something else outside of my current field.

But what about those people who specialises in one field, and have been dedicating themselves into that work for many years? If suddenly one day, the field that they have been working on is obsolete, no longer needed and out of job, what would those people do for a living next?

For those not-so-tough ones, probably they'll end up either in the sea, or in front of a building, dead. Yes, being out of job and no money, suicide seems the only way out for those people. Only the tough ones will survive, eventhough the example may mean that some General Managers out selling ice-cream on a motorbike to make ends meet.

Life's always been like that - cruel, cold reality can really hurt you. But if you are tough enough, i guessed it's the end for most of us.

Shit throwing

Friday, March 09, 2007

Sometimes, you'll have to accept that your ideas may not be the best, but if you have ideas, bring it to the table and discuss it. It's like throwing shit to the wall. If you throw it once, it will fell off. But if you throw it hard and a lot times, sure enough, some will stay on the wall.

I guessed with that kind of saying, no wonder we have people managers who bullshits a lot. There's already loads of bullshits going around and with that kind of saying, I guessed there'll be a whole load more.

But then again, why am I not even surprised with this kind of saying? Maybe I'm already becoming part of the bullshit? Or maybe I don't bullshit enough? I don't know.... maybe I'm not big enough to give big bullshit... maybe.............

Flower, flower

Thursday, March 08, 2007

What do you normally gives your girlfriend or wife during anniversaries? I'm supposed that you must have bought flowers at least once during your relationship. I'm just checking, when you got the flowers, did you arrange for flower delivery straight to your wife/girlfriend's place, or you bought it and presents to her yourself?

I have tried both, and i'm glad to say that either way can be as effective, depending on the situation. If you are outstation and needs to send flower immediately for your wife in another state, flower delivery will be the only option. Women loves surprises like that, so that'll definitely scores you brownie points.

But, personally, if you can afford it and have the time, give the flower to your loved ones yourself. That'll be more personal, and will score loads more brownie points :P

Exposed?

How can something secret can be exposed so easily, especially if you are trying hard not to let it exposed? What happened when whatever that you intend it to happen secretly just blows up in your face? Or worst, it's someone that you despised that blows your cover?

Or was it just karma playing with you? Was the little secret supposed to be found eventually? Was it really secret in the first place?

Sometimes, we just can't blame people for blowing up your cover, if it's too obvious to blown. I guessed i have to try harder.

Retro movies

Wednesday, March 07, 2007

I can't believed myself that I'm actually watching Grease! It's on 8TV now, and I actually am enjoying the songs from the movie. Sounds corny, but entertaining, especially when you get to see John Travolta (when he was thinner) and Olivia Newton John (still alive and kicking) dancing and singing rather than just hearing the songs on radio or MP3.

Sometimes, my wife don't understand why I liked watching retro movies like that. I especially loved P.Ramlee movies, especially the Bujang Lapuk movie series. I never knew why i liked retro movies myself. I just like it.

Sometimes, I just think that those retro movies (especially P.Ramlee movies) have a lot of in-direct teachings in it. They don't just tell stories, but they try to bring forward a lot of family values in them as well.

Also, not to mention the sense of fashion that they have at that time. It's just amazing how they dressed those days, and the ladies! They just have to make-up so thickly, that they looked like dolls.

Any other reasons to not like retro movies? :)

I want gold!

I want gold!! Seriously speaking, who wouldn't want gold especially if you get it for free? Of course, there's no such things as free lunch gold, but you can always get to buy gold at almost everywhere, even on the Internet.

But then again, if I were to buy it online from the US, how would I get it back to Malaysia? Even if the company insured the package, I still can't see myself buying and get it sent back to Malaysia. Unless............ I go over to the US, buy, and bring it back. Of course, I wouldn't want risk myself of getting robbed while on the way back :)

Shit splattered all over

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

What do you do if the shit hits the fan, and everything has settled down, there's only one outcome - everything that the shit hits will be smelly, and that means that the whole place is bloody smelly now. I don't think I have to elaborate on this, and you wouldn't want to try taking a piece of shit and let it hit the fan right? :)

My point is, I should have been more sensitive, and could have prevented the shit from hitting the fan. The problem is, while i was trying to keep the shit in where it's supposed to be, it eventually got loose and decided to flung itself to the fan.

Why am I babbling about all this shit thing? Maybe I'm just confused of what I should do for now. I guessed I have to start looking for things to cover up the shitty smell, or look elsewhere for a clean, no-shit room. Maybe I should just leave.

When the shit hits the fan

Monday, March 05, 2007

You'll know it whenever the situation warrants you to take cover. You know, situation like where you take a piece of shit (sorry for the vulgarity), and flung it up to ceiling and the shit hits the fan. You know what happens if you didnt take cover....

The same thing is happening to me now, and I didn't the necessary to take cover. I should already have seen it coming, but I didn't anticipate it to happen so soon. The signs were too obvious - results, connections, outspoken-ness(is there such a word?) - but I refused to believe.

Maybe next time I should take rumours more seriously. You'll never know when it's going to be true. For the time being, let me spread some rumours as well.... :)

Lost in PR

Sunday, March 04, 2007

I just noticed that this blog has it's Google PR dropped to 2/10, where it previously has a PR 4/10. What a waste. I'm going to have to work my way up to where it used to be, one step at a time.

My wife is already looking at me on why am I still blogging at my old place. Let's just say that it brings back old memories and sentimental values. Let's just say that I refused to get old... hehe

Anyway, a lot to be done here - blog template to be changed, layout to be optimised. The plus point is, I can blog multiple times in a day here, and nobody would even care! :)

I'm alive!

After 3 years & 4 months, I'm back here to clear the cobwebs and start anew. I wanna bring back the fun-ness in blogging for myself rather than blogging for other people. My new blog at my own domain has changed a lot since i started off blogging, cursing at customers. I can't do that anymore there as there's way too many people reading it, and I don't even know if it will reach any of my managers.

I'm going to come back here while still blogging at my personal blog. Just hoping that nobody's going to find me ever at this old, dusty blog :)
