What would you do?

Thursday, September 02, 2004

You have this friend since elementary and after college the both of you lost contact with each other. But she is someone really special to you, and you are someone very special to her too. Five years later you receive a phone call from her.

"Hi, I'll visit you" she says.
"Hi, Leah, when?" you ask her.
"Just wait for me" she replies.

It seems weird but you prepare for her coming anyway. One rainy night you hear a knock on the door. And you're surprised to see that it's your friend Leah. Losing touch for five years is so long and you start talking about everything. The both of you even go to your room upstairs. Suddenly there is a power outage, but the two of you continue talking by candle-light. Then the phone rings.

"I'll just get the phone downstairs," you say.
"No, don't get it, we're in the middle of our talk," she says.

"It might be important," you say.
"Okay if you say so, but promise me you'll be back," she says.

You promise her a million times that you'll be back. Then you run downstairs to answer the phone.

"Hello," you say.
"Hello," says the person on the line.
"Yeah?" you say, wondering who it is.
I'm calling on behalf of Leah's family. They had an accident and her parents are in the hospital right now," he says.

"How are they?" you ask.
He continues, "They are injured but stable. But I'm sorry to say that Leah died. We found your name and phone number in Leah's purse..." His voice trails off as you look up at the long stairs.

WOULD YOU GO BACK AS YOU HAVE PROMISED?

You decided to walk up the room. You see that the stairway suddenly elongated as it takes you a longer time to reach your room. The door creaked open to reveal a dark room, lit only by the thunder lighting on the outside. You realized the wind was blowing wildly but you cannnot see Leah anywhere around. Walking towards the window, you quickly shut it close but still Leah wasn't anywhere around. However you could feel her presence around you. There was a small laughter and running sound heard in your bedroom. Cold sweat flowing down from your forehead as you realized it wasn't sweat at all. You touched it and realized it was thick. You look up and....

Honestly, I wouldn't go back. What if, she suddenly think it is too boring to be alone and want me to accompany her forever?

you looked up... and realised that you fell asleep without closing the window which caused the strong wind to carry with it the rain drops onto your face.

"Was it a dream...?", you asked yourself...

Gotenk, actually good idea coz I've ran out of idea on what to write for the reader... Hmm, you might have a good idea there...

You looked up... and realised that you fell asleep without closing the window which caused the strong wind to carry with it the wet pain onto your face.

"Was it a dream...?" you asked yourself. Hell no, there was a certain smell on the red paint. You looked up wondered who was the idiot painted a dot on top of the ceiling. Then suddenly you realized it wasn't paint at all...

and you realised that the red paint formed some kind of words.... and it reads ....

"APRIL FOOL"

kekekekeke... :D

"APRIL FOOL"?, he thought to himself. "Why? The month of April has long gone, and now is September already", he heard him saying to himself.

"Does these two words brings any secret behind them?", he complicated his mind again. He tried to think hard and deep into these two words but without any success or any idea what it might mean.

Frustrated, he bang his head to the wall and the shock from the momentum absorbed into his brain. He looked at the words again, and again, and again. Suddenly, some hints came to his mind. "Maybe these are scrambled words or maybe letters.", thinking to himself. He then tried to perform some detective jobs by rearranging the words to see if these letters will construct any other words. After hours of trying, he suddenly came to these two words - FLOOR PAIL.

"Maybe this is the answer!", feeling proud to himself. "Yes, yes, this should be the answer!". He was too happy to solved the mistery of these two words and jumped out from his bed to the floor. As soon as he reached the floor, he slipped and fell and found his head hitting a pail located near to his bed.

He woke up from this dream again and found that his head was hit by a novel that has just fell down from above the shelves. "Ouch!", he cried while picking up the book. When he turned to look at the cover, it reads - "Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown.

"Damn, I must have read too much...", he said.

Gotenk, you just took the words right off my mouth! You've finished the book already?
commented by Blogger Jaselee, 2:36 PM
wow... banyak bagus ini ending... i like... :D

Jase,

yup, i have actually finished that book a few months ago... =)

i have read his "angels and demons" too... well his writing is the best for me at the moment... i couldn't stop reading them... but i think "Da Vinci Code" is better than "angels and demons".

Gotenk,

Yes, it's much more interesting with The Da Vinci Code. I've browse through other books like Digital Fortress & Angels & Demons, but I'm more interested to start with The Da Vinci Code first. After that, I believe I'll jump to Angels & Demons and then to Digital Fotress.

Bluedolphin,

Actually the action of a supernatural has intrigue the man since dawn of humankind. So I think it's perfectly safe to actually enjoy the story while it last. However, on a real scale, I still hope not to encounter such 'stuff'. I don't want to be like Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) from Sixth Sense where he sees dead people.
