HDTV, perhaps?

Monday, November 26, 2007

The trend these days are moving more and more towards the high-definition. Everything's going HD now, and naturally, HDTVs are starting to make a move into all our shores. Let's say if you are taking the plunge into all things HD, where or how would you do your research before parting with your hard-earned money?

In these days and age, the Internet would be the place to turn to. But with all the many brands of the HDTVs around, including Polaroid HDTV, which one would you choose? And the ultimate question is, how would you purchase the HDTV?

Me? I would still go thru the normal electrical shop to shop after doing all my research. Why? I'll still like to compare between the brands, at least from the graphic point of view. But if i were to be given an option to purchase online, i may give it a try as well ;) That's what technology's there for you for, right?

More slowness and rantings

The system is still slow. Yes - i don't think it's gonna get any faster any time soon - not until somebody approves a local, mirrored server here in our own region. I guessed for now, we'll all have to live with the slowness and adjust all our fast speed to suit the slowness and put efficiency away.

While we are there, the people are still complaining away. Apparently, the case where one of the PM escalated me has reached the ears of my PMs. And yes - we have a good laugh. Come on - who else can i contact since everyone's on leave, and the said PM was not picking up my calls? His boss?

Hmm, maybe i should do that the next time. Call the boss if can't get any of the PMs. Great. If they want us to setup a process for them, be my guest. Just make sure you can stay long enough to suffer it. Damn it.

I hate slowness

Sunday, November 25, 2007

You know, slowness keeps me waiting. And i don't like to wait. But surprisingly, the new system was somehow comparatively faster when i access it at home. Yes - sounds weird, but i actually felt the system loads faster at home than at work. Errm... perhaps that's because i access it off normal working hours?

But then again, the same system would be access by the staffs in the US and the Europe, and at our night time would be their normal working hours. So, literally speaking, the traffic should be heavier at this time. Hmm... but why?

Has the office network gets crappy?

Gold price up somemore?

Lately, a lot have been said about gold. Yes - especially when it's now the high time to invest, perhaps, sell gold, since the price of gold has hit an all-time high. While for gold investors would likely sell their gold stocks now, it's actually quite a drag for gold dealers to push out their wares. Why?

The high gold price has made a lot of people shy away from buying gold, and choosing silver instead. Yes, silver has become the next gold. So, what better time would it be to invest in silver as well? When people keep buying, supply goes down while the demand stays up. Simple rule of investing - buy when it's low, sell when the price is high.

Simple enough? What else are you waiting for now?

It's freaking slow...

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

It's slow. Yes - the new system that we have to use to manage our new projects to the project managers. It's so slow that I can click on something, go and get a cup of hot water for coffee, back to my place and the application is still not fully loaded. That slow.

I don't know if the slowness is due to the fact that the server's in the US. If that's the case, i'd say that the server hosting the app is pure crap. And slow. Maybe the bandwidth is not big enough. Another piece of crap.

Why can't they take webhosting speed and bandwidth as the yardstick to benchmark the speed? It's web-based application, anyway. Maybe that's meant to show that Micro$oft sucks? :)

I don't like it...

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

You know what's worst than having to do something you haven't do for years? To be tied to what you haven't do for years, and literally mount you to your desk and robs your freedom away. Catch no balls?

I was a call taking agents like 2-3 years back. Back then, wherever you go (during working hours) would need to be recorded. You practically got no freedom to go "snaking" at all. And now, after 2-3 years being off the queue, i have to go back into the queue!

Crap. And worst - all the calls that i've taken so far have nothing related to what I'm supposed to do. Crap shit.

Do also wrong, don't do also wrong

Monday, November 12, 2007

Sometimes, i felt a little tulan with some people. Sometimes I don't know if i should do something or not. It's like if you didn't, the whole customer experience will suffer. Now that I've done it, the people who's in-charge (whom I'm not able to contact) is screwing me up.

Don't you feel like all your effort to help the customer suddenly went down the drain? Cust was already chasing sales for the activation, and the assigned project manager was on leave. What's greater was that he didn't bother to pick up the call that i made to him. Yes - not once, but multiple time. And i wasn't even in charge of the country - i was only backing up my colleague who's on leave.

When i read the email this morning, was already boiling. And now he refused to take his project back. F88k. He can take the project and shove it up his ****** ass. Damnit.

Really am too free

Tuesday, November 06, 2007

Definitely feeling the beginning of the quarter blues: no order downloaded at all. 2 words - bloody boring. I couldn't actually surfed the sites that i wanted in the office for the fear of being labelled "too free" again. The very site that i wanted to access is Blogshares to build up my assets.

I don't know if tomorrow's gonna be the same. Thank God i sat kinda far away from the big boss - else she'll definitely know that I'm freaking free. That wouldn't be that good to me. Besides, I don't want to appear that I'm too free - i have to get something done.

But what? I can't surfed Net. The most i could find is job related. Maybe it's time I looked up what's that ITIL and PMP all about. Hmm... great idea. Maybe i could use that time to move the remaining 2 blogs that I haven't moved. Hmm......

I survived Quarter-end closing!

Finally, quarter-end has passed by peacefully, and i survived thru it. And the post-quarter end is so drastic - there wasn't any new orders yesterday, and today. For both Singapore and Thailand! Weird.

It's too quiet to be true. But i'm liking this period of blank-ness, and emptiness as well. Just let see how long it'll go this way. According to my boss, final quarter of the year is going to be like this - quiet, and peaceful. Let's see how :)
